Did you know that if you hover your cursor over a link in an email the status bar will display the site address? See how it looks in a few applications:

If the site address you see doesn't match the location you think the link should be taking you, don't follow the link. For example, if the message states to login to your work email account for verification, but the address is for http://forms.google.com... it's most likely a phishing attempt so don't follow it.
If you want to take it a step further and check if the message has been reported to us, follow these instructions:
If we have already seen it and determined it was a phishing attempt, you'll find it. Please click Report Again to let us know it is still an issue. If it doesn't show up, please forward the orignal e-mail message to phish@kyneteks.com, and we will be glad to check it out.
It seems that people take things they read on the internet to be facts even though they would ignore the same offer in person. Please keep yourself safe and know that if it seems too good to be true, it most likely is! Always be skeptical of requests to loan money, to validate credentials, or to provide confidential information. Most entitites will never ask for this type of information via email without discussing it with you in person first.
Throw it away!!! Do the same with unsolicited email. If you don't have a reasonable belief that the sender would send you a file or image, don't open it. Email them back and ask them what the attachment is before opening it.
